Minimum 1-hour tutoring with additional time billed in quarter-hour increments (exceptions for Remote Tutoring)

Cancellations and changes to appointments must be made 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged one hour tutoring. Remote Tutoring cancellations will be charged ½ hour tutoring.

Valid credit card number or one hour prepaid deposit required in account before any appointment. Deposit may be used towards the cost of each appointment, or may be held in account so that client can make subsequent appointments without further prepayment. Deposit is fully refundable at any time provided no appointment is set within 24 hours from time of refund request. If client cancels scheduled appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice, deposit will be forfeited as cancellation charge and prepayment of 1 hour tutoring will be required before next appointment can be held.

Payment is expected within 14 days of invoicing. Clients with no next appointment scheduled will receive invoice by email within 48 hours of services rendered. Clients who meet regularly will receive bimonthly invoices via email. Postal mail invoices will be sent on request. If payment is not received within 14 days of invoicing, Honors Educational Services reserves the right to suspend all tutoring until payment is received.

All tutoring is to take place in public area of the home, such as kitchen or living room. For the safety and reputation of both student and tutor, under no circumstances should tutoring take place in a student’s bedroom. If public area of the home is unavailable or unsuitable, tutoring can be arranged at an alternative location, such as a library, coffee shop, or home of a friend or relative. Tutors are not permitted to stay for any scheduled session in which public area is unavailable. Client may be subject to charge for such session.

All tutoring shall take place at the “Tutoring Location” as listed on the registration. If an alternate location is required, said location must be 1) approved 24 hours in advance by both tutor and company and 2) no more than 2 miles from primary location. Locations greater than 2 miles difference require a minimum 48 hours advance notice and will be approved at the discretion of the tutor.

Honors Educational Services reserves the right to make changes to these policies either company-wide or on an individual client basis at any time.
